SHAPLA
This is a personal project called “Shapla” that I’m working on in my spare time.
As a South Asian Muslim artist, I really want there to be more representation of Asian cultures within the animation industry. This project is designed for me to learn more about the history and cultures from a wide range of communities as well as my own Bangladeshi heritage.
In the process of my learning journey, I am building a fantasy world and narrative driven by these colourful tales, and mythology in ancient Asia.
Meet Blip, They’re a magical Axolotl
They are from a faraway land but their reason to take this long perilous journey is still a mystery.
Ashin
Here is an animation of my South-Asian inspired character named Ashin. This design was done very early on in the character development stage. He’s wearing a tunic as well as a traditional dhoti, which is a long piece of fabric wrapped around the legs to form trousers.
More of Blip
Here is an animation based on an earlier design of Blip.
